Surrey Youth Pilot Aubin: Inclusive Travel for Neurodivergent People
Young people in Surrey are at the forefront of developing more inclusive travel solutions, having recently completed a pilot program for the Aubin app. Members of ATLAS, Surrey Youth Voice’s group focused on additional needs and disabilities, participated in testing this innovative, free journey-planning application. Aubin is specifically designed for neurodivergent individuals, setting it apart from conventional travel apps that prioritize speed and efficiency. Its core principle is personalization, aiming to cater to the unique requirements of neurodivergent travelers. This pilot project underscores a commitment to fostering accessible travel experiences and empowering individuals with diverse needs by offering a tailored approach to navigating journeys. The initiative seeks to transform how neurodivergent people plan their travel, emphasizing individual comfort and specific preferences over generic efficiency metrics, thereby contributing to a more understanding and accommodating travel ecosystem in Surrey and potentially beyond.
